Deserted in Normandy
This series is a documentary diary from the Norman coasts. The photographs wish to focus on and depict personal feelings towards a human isolation in the nature. Since in the present times people often live or spend much time immersed in the life in cities, being within a quiet environment can often become almost uncomfortable.
Deserted in Normandy rethinks the notion of an empty, isolated but immense place that feels very quiet and inhabited. Even when there were people walking on the beach, hiking or simply embracing the nature - it still seemed like individuals were just scattered around within this vast, enormous landscape. The aim is to explore the environment and highlight the 'emptiness' of this landscape.
The sense of 'isolation' was very soothing at times but also very melancholic, as it often made Normandy look and feel very deserted.
